AUS vs SA | Twitter surprised as Dewald Brevis survives easy run-out chance due to Cooper Connolly’s miss

The game of cricket, along with some iconic moments, is filled with some comical incidents as well, which leave everyone in splits. One of them came in the 16th over as Dewald Brevis got a lifeline due to a fumble by Cooper Connolly in the third ODI at the Great Barrier Reef Arena in Mackay.
The third and final ODI between Australia and South Africa started as a nightmare for the visitors, who were smacked for 431 in the first innings on the back of three brilliant centuries from Travis Head, Mitchell Marsh, and Cameron Green. The Aussie dominance continued in the second innings as well with the Rainbow nation losing four wickets in the powerplay due to incredible opening spells from Xavier Bartlett and Sean Abbot, who took a couple of scalps each as the Proteas were put in a tricky position at 65/4. Though there was some respite for them with a decent 50+ stand between Tony de Zorzi and Dewald Brevis, as soon as the partnership was broken, the Aussies managed to take control of the game once again.
Though luck did not seem to favor the visitors in this game, a stroke of fortune came in the 16th over, bowled by Australian up-and-coming all-rounder Cooper Connolly. The left-arm spinner had already taken the wicket of de Zorzi in his first over, but made a terrible mistake in his second over when Brevis’s wicket was there for the taking. The incident took place on the fifth delivery of the over when there was a mix-up between Wiaan Mulder and Brevis. The young batter was already halfway down the track when Mulder decided to send him back at the last minute. As the latter slipped in an attempt to get back in his crease, it seemed like his innings was going to come to an end. However, Brevis breathed a sigh of relief as Connolly fumbled the ball and gave a lifeline to the 26-year-old middle-order batter.
The fans troll the young all-rounder after this easy miss
