AI Simulation, EDR vs CDK | Anuj Rawat’s match-winning half-century helps Riders end as table toppers in league stage

As per Artificial Intelligence, the East Delhi Riders will beat the Central Delhi Kings by five wickets in their last league match of the ongoing DPL 2025. Anuj Rawat’s captaincy knock will play a central role in this much-needed win for the Riders ahead of the tournament’s playoff stage.
Pitch and Weather
It was a dry surface with an even bounce at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Short square boundaries played a crucial role in big hitting, but the pitch slowed down in the second innings.
The weather conditions in Delhi were quite humid, with the dew coming into play in the second half of the game. Chasing looked slightly easier compared to batting first.

Central Delhi Kings won the toss and decided to bat first.

Match Report
After opting to bat first, the Central Delhi Kings had a brilliant opening start of 43 runs in just 45 overs by the opening pair of Yash Dhull and Kaushal Suman. Both the batters launched a brutal attack with boundaries against the Riders’ bowling attack in the initial overs of the powerplay. This partnership came to an end when Suman was caught at long-off by Hardik Sharma off Ajay Ahlawat’s fifth ball in the fifth over. Just after an addition of 18 runs, the Kings faced another blow, losing Yugal Saini (11) in an LBW, trapped by Rohit Yadav in the eighth over. After these two dismissals, Dhull and skipper Jonty Sidhu stitched a stabilising partnership of 41 runs for the third wicket before the former’s 42-run knock was ended by Navdeep Saini in the 13th over. Dhull smashed five fours and a six during his knock. Sidhu carried the innings from there and went on to score 47 runs off 32 balls, with four fours and two sixes, before losing his wicket to Rohit Yadav in the 17th over. The late contribution of Aryan Rana (18 runs off 12 balls) helped the Kings reach the total of 168/7 in the allotted 20 overs.
While chasing the target, the Riders faced an early blow in the third over, losing Arpit Rana (12) at the team score of just 18 runs. He was caught by Dhull at cover off Simarjeet Singh. Hardik Sharma continued to hit some crucial boundaries and added a 37-run partnership for the second wicket with skipper Anuj Rawat. Hardik was dismissed by Tejas Baroka in the seventh over; he scored 28 runs off 21 balls, with three fours and a six. Anuj Rawat added another decisive partnership of 31 runs for the third wicket with Mayank Rawat before the latter was caught by Kaushal Suman at point in the 11th over. Mayank could score only 15 (14), mostly rotating the partnership during his partnership with Anuj. After Mayank’s dismissal, the pendulum swung in favour of the Riders owing to a brilliant 44-run partnership for the fourth wicket between Anuj and Vaibhav Baisla (24). Simarjeet Singh broke this partnership by dismissing Anuj, who had done his job with an amazing knock of 61 runs off 38 balls, with six fours and three sixes. Later in the innings, Rounak Waghela’s unbeaten 25 (14) helped the Riders cross the line in 18.4 overs, scoring 172/5. Simarjeet and Baroka scalped two wickets each, but their efforts weren’t enough for the Kings to restrict the Riders before the target. With this win, East Delhi Riders have ended their league stage campaign as the table toppers in the tournament standings.
Player of the Match
East Delhi Riders’ Anuj Rawat was adjudged ‘Player of the Match’ for his match-winning and outstanding knock of 61 runs off 38 balls, which stabilised the run chase for the Riders and played an anchor role in the win.
