Two top teams, East Delhi Riders and Central Delhi Kings, will face each other in the last league match of their respective campaigns in the ongoing Delhi Premier League 2025. It will be a very crucial game for both teams as the winning side will end up getting placed at the top spot in the tally.
The defending champions, East Delhi Riders, have been the most successful team in the ongoing Delhi Premier League 2025 so far. The table toppers have won six games while losing only one, alongside two no-result games in their nine games. The Riders started their campaign with a brilliant five-wicket win against South Delhi Superstarz in the tournament opener. Following this, they lost to the West Delhi Lions by seven wickets. Making an amazing comeback, the Riders defeated the New Delhi Tigers and Outer Delhi Warriors by margins of seven and five wickets in the next two games. The fifth game of their campaign was abandoned due to rain, in which they were supposed to face the South Delhi Superstarz for the second time in the current season. Furthermore, they registered three wins in a row against the Lions and PD6, respectively. Their previous game against the Strikers was also abandoned due to rain, being their second match without a result. They will aim to end their league stage on a winning note to go ahead in the playoffs with confidence.
On the other hand, the Central Delhi Kings have also qualified for the playoffs of the ongoing DPL 2025. They are placed just a spot below the Riders in the tournament standings. EDR vs CDK Head-to-Head in T20S
East Delhi Riders and Central Delhi Kings took on each other in two games last year in DPL 2024. The Riders registered a massive 10-wicket win in the first game of this head-to-head rivalry against the Kings. In the 16th DPL 2024 game, CDK managed to exact their revenge with a five-wicket win, equalling the head-to-head scoreline by 1-1 after two games. Now, both teams will eye to gain a lead with a win in this game and make the scoreline 2-1 in their favour.
Pitch and Weather
The surface at the Arun Jaitley Stadium is expected to be a flat track, which might aid the batters in the second innings. The team batting second has been more successful compared to the team batting first in the tournament’s current season so far. So, bowling first will be a wise move after winning the toss here.
The weather in Delhi on Wednesday is likely to be partly cloudy, with the temperature hovering around 30 degrees Celsius. The humidity will be around 55 per cent, with the chances of the dew factor coming into play in the second innings, which might make the chase easy.
Team News
Both teams are coming off a decent run of form in their last few games, so they might go with their unchanged playing XI, considering the winning combination for the last couple of matches.
EDR Probable XI: Arpit Rana, Hardik Sharma, Anuj Rawat(w/c), Mayank Rawat, Vaibhav Baisla, Rohan Rathi, Rounak Waghela, Navdeep Saini, Rohit Yadav, Ajay Ahlawat, Ashish Meena.
