Arsenal remain interested in Real Madrid winger Rodrygo, but his £78m price tag is currently too high. However, Real Madrid's history of negotiating reasonable fees and loan deals, like Odegaard’s, gives the Gunners hope. If Arsenal offload fringe players or Leandro Trossard, they could fund a move or pursue a loan-to-buy strategy for Rodrygo.

As the summer transfer window nears its close, Arsenal remain hopeful of securing a marquee forward, with Real Madrid’s Rodrygo emerging as a key target. Although the Brazilian winger has a reported price tag of €90 million (£78 million), which is currently beyond Arsenal’s reach due to Financial Fair Play (FFP) constraints after already spending close to £200 million, hope remains. The Gunners could still make a move if Leandro Trossard or Gabriel Martinelli depart, especially as Trossard is the more likely to leave.

Arsenal’s interest in Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze is said to be independent of their left-wing situation, meaning both Eze and Rodrygo could be pursued if enough funds are raised through player sales. Encouragingly, Real Madrid’s transfer history suggests a potential softening in stance. The Spanish club has previously accepted reasonable offers for key players like Martin Ødegaard and Theo Hernandez.

They have also shown willingness to negotiate loan deals, as seen with James Rodríguez and Dani Ceballos. Given the strong relationship between Arsenal and Real Madrid, a temporary move for Rodrygo could be on the cards. Adding Rodrygo to a forward line featuring Bukayo Saka and Viktor Gyokeres would significantly boost Mikel Arteta’s attacking depth ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
