With City and Chelsea fixtures looming, manager Ruben Amorim awaits crucial fitness updates.

As the international break unfolds, Manchester United have been struck by fresh injury concerns ahead of crucial fixtures against Manchester City and Chelsea. Diogo Dalot has withdrawn from Portugal’s squad due to muscle discomfort, joining Matheus Cunha and Mason Mount on the treatment table. The Portuguese Football Federation confirmed that Dalot was released from international duty, with Lazio’s Nuno Tavares called up as his replacement.

Dalot, who has featured in all three of United’s Premier League games so far, will return to Manchester for further assessment. Meanwhile, summer signing Cunha has already pulled out of Brazil’s squad for the World Cup qualifiers against Chile and Bolivia after limping off in United’s dramatic 3-2 win over Burnley at Old Trafford. Mount was also forced off in the same match, leaving manager Ruben Amorim anxious over the fitness of key players. United are already without long-term absentee Lisandro Martinez.

Amorim admitted his concern after Burnley, highlighting that Mount even played through pain for 30 minutes before being substituted. Cunha has reassured fans on Instagram that he will be back soon. With City, Chelsea, and Liverpool coming up in quick succession, United’s ability to stay competitive could heavily depend on the recovery of these injured stars.
